Q. Can I get an early check-in or late check-out?
A. The availability for an early check in is dependent upon whether the housekeeping team has had time to fully clean, sanitize, and prepare the home for your arrival. If other guests are checking out the same day your reservation begins, we cannot guarantee an early check in. Please notify us prior to the day of your arrival, and as soon as possible if you believe you will be requesting an early check in so we may prioritize housekeeping services at your rental.
Q. Do the rentals include grilling utensils.
A. Yes. But from time to time, things go missing. Should you notice any missing items, please be sure to notify us right away.
Q. Is charcoal provided, or do we need to bring our own?
We strive to charcoal stocked for the grill. However, if our previous guests use all of the charcoal, and do not notify us that it is out, we might not know. In this case, it is the responsibility of the guests to purchase charcoal.
Q. Can I bring firewood for the fire pit from home?
A. No. Missouri hardwood firewood has been quarantined because of the emerald ash borer (EAB). This means that it is illegal for you to move any hardwood firewood out of the state without complying with federal EAB regulations.
Q. Do you provide essentials such as toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc.?
Yes. However, should your group run out of any of these items, it is then the responsibility of the guests to provide.
Q. Is your kitchen fully stocked with (fill in the _____ ) silverware, pots, pans, plates, etc.?
Yes. Our kitchens are fully stocked with every imaginable item one would need to feel right at home. Unfortunately, from time to time some items go missing. If you are concerned that our rentals won’t have a large enough sauce pan, or the perfect margarita pitcher, please bring those items with you. Just don’t forget to take them home with you when you leave.
Q. Do your rentals have a washer/dryer/dishwasher?

We will email or message you the lockbox access code no sooner than 24 hours before your arrival.
Q: Do you have cable or satellite at your properties?
Yes. We will email or message you the wifi information no sooner than 24 hours before your arrival. Please be sure to log out of any accounts (such as Prime Video, Netflix, etc.) prior to your departure.
Q. Do the rentals include outdoor seating/lounge chairs?
Yes. Wicker seating for 14 in Lookout Lounge, plus 12 foldable camping chairs to use at The Beach. There is also six adirondack chairs located around the fire pit in the front lawn. Those are NOT to be taken down to the beach, but may be moved to Lookout Lounge if needed.
Q. What is, or what will the water level be on the Elk River? Is it swimmable/floatable? How deep is the water at Riverside Retreat?
The water level on the Elk River is swimmable/floatable nearly all year round. However, the current water level can vary greatly depending on the amount of rain, or lack there of we’ve received in recent days, or weeks. For the most current water level for your stay, you can check waterdata.usgs.gov.
Q. Can I rent for just one night?
A. We have a two night minimum stay on all of our vacation rental homes.
